On 22 July 2026 the Tax Practitioners Board finalised TPB(GS) 55/2026, its guidance on AI and the Code of Professional Conduct: using AI does not reduce or transfer a practitioner's responsibility, and the Code's competence, confidentiality and reasonable-care obligations apply in full when AI tools are used.
From December 2026, if software makes or substantially contributes to decisions that significantly affect individuals, you must disclose it in your privacy policy. AI screening and assessment tools are squarely in scope.
